Advanced Robotics


Our team of specialist robotic engineers has over 20 years of experience in providing technology-driven, bespoke solutions to the nuclear, medical, microbiological, aerospace and defence industries. We combine cost effective commercial off-the-shelf equipment with state-of-the-art, proven, proprietary software and controls.

A wide range of robotic and automated tasks are available and our experience includes complex and hazardous applications especially where remote control is required due tohuman involvement being undesirable, inappropriate or unavailable.
 
Past projects include:
  • Defence requirement for manipulator kinematic control software development for a 9 degree of freedom remote bomb disposal manipulator to SIL2 software standards
  • Nuclear waste handling automation developed from a standard industrial robot with tool changer and tool bank, for swabbing a nuclear waste container and bolting down the lid
  • Nuclear application of RTS´ advanced industrial quality tele-operation controller to several nuclear projects including WAGR decommissioning, VIT line repair and control of the BNFL Heavy Duty Hydraulic Manipulator
  • Nuclear manipulator control system upgrade of an 11 degree of freedom inspection arm in an operational nuclear reactor
  • Aerospace assembly feasibility applications, for proof of principle demonstrators
